Information on Restriction of Carrying Liquids

Due to the security reason, as of Mar 01 (THU) 2007 00:01, Korean government will not allow all international flight passengers departing from Korea to bring liquid/gel items and aerosols carried in containers larger than 100 ml(cc) on board.

Even though liquid/gel items and aerosols carried in containers not larger than 100ml (cc) are allowed on board, all containers must fit comfortably in a one-liter or smaller transparent zipper-lock plastic bag and the transparent zipper-lock plastic bag should be presented to the security personnel prior to security screening. Only one zipper-lock bag is permitted per passenger.

1. Please check items you can bring and you can't bring on board in advance, and check in items that you can't bring on board.

2. Please check the plastic bag condition you can bring or can't bring on board, and check in items that are not fit into the plastic bag.

3. You can bring items below on board without limits on the amount. But please don't forget to declare to security personnel in advance.

- Baby milk and juice only if a baby is traveling.
- Medications in quantities reasonably necessary during passenger's trip

4. When you purchase liquid/gel items and aerosols at the duty free shop, the sales personnel will placed both all purchased items and the receipt in a special transparent sealed plastic bag. Since you can bring duty free items without limits on the amount only when the plastic bag provided by the duty free shop has no sign of tampering, please do not open the bag.

5. Liquid/gel and aerosols duty free items purchased at duty free shop in overseas airport or on board by a passenger who is transiting at an airport in Korea may be brought on board without limits on the amount if the items are packed in a special transparent plastic bag with the receipt. But, please note that the transparent sealed bag that is tampered by a passenger will not be allowed on board.

* To minimize waiting time in the security line and passengers' inconvenience that might be caused by implementation of restriction on carrying liquid items on board, we would like to ask passengers' cooperation as below;

1) Arrive at the airport 3 hours prior to the flight time and check in to prepare for the delay that may occur due to longer security line.

2) Check-in most of your baggage and carry only necessary items, such as a passport and a pocket purse, on board.

3) To avoid congestion at the airport, please prepare a one-liter transparent zipper-lock plastic bag and pack items before arriving at the airport.

4) 1 liter transparent zipper-lock plastic bag carrying liquid/gel items and large electronic devices, such as laptop computer, should be removed from carry on bag prior to security screening, and declare to security personnel.

All employees of Asiana Airlines will do our best to minimize the passengers' inconvenience caused by the enhanced restriction.

And again, please arrive at the airport a few hours earlier than usual and be informed by our employees
