Oedo Paradise Island

Address
Ilun-myeon, Geojae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do
Description
Oedo Island Marine Tourism is a marine botanical garden located in Hallyeo Haesang National Park, which has a beautiful view of the clean South Sea and surrounding landscape. It is 4 km away from Geojedo Island. About 20 minutes on ship from Gujora Port, past Naedo Island, you can reach Oedo Island. In 1969, Lee Chang-Ho first came to this island to escape from the wind and waves when he was fishing. He and his wife made this tourist farm with all their heart for 30 years. The forest is 264 square km, is covered with camellias and full of other exotic plants such as cact, and palm trees. In April, the island gets covered with yeonsan flowers. The Venus Garden that seems to look like miniature of Versailles, displays twelve sculptures here and western style gardens. At the Paradise Lounge, you can enjoy sunshine and the cool sea while sipping on a beverage. At the Flowering Plant Complex next to the theme park, there are camellias and various kinds of rare flowers from all over the world. The Sculpture Amusement Park leads to the child's heart, because it has sculptures of Korean traditional folk games such as kicking shuttlecocks, a mock cavalry battle the ‘Paradise Stairs’ had many visitors after the site was shown in Korea soap operas. Walking on these stairs will make you feel like you are in paradise because the Chinese juniper tree belt is well organized with tapestries and there are many kinds of flowers and tress along stairs.
