Geography
Kazakhstan has a total area of 27,424,900km², about ½ the size of the United States, and is the world's 9th largest country. Kazakhstan borders Russia to the northwest, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan to the south, and China to the east.
Climate
Kazakhstan experiences extreme temperatures during summer and winter. During the scorching hot summer months, temperatures can exceed 40° C. During the winter months, temperatures can drop down between -15° ~ -40° C. The average summer temperature is 20° C, and 30° C in the southern region. The average winter temperature is -19° C, and -2° C in the southern region.
