Today, over 1 billion people reside in India, 2nd largest in the world, and it's the 7th largest country in the world. Over 80% of the Gross National Product comes from the agriculture industries. Geography
India is located in the northern hemisphere and its total area is 3,287,782km ², 16 times the size of Korea. India is adjacent to China, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Its coastline is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, and the Bay of Bengal. The three main regions of India are the mountain region of the Himalayas (8,000m), the Deccan Plateau region (1,000m), and the plain region, formed by 3 rivers; Ganga, Indus, and Brahmaputra. The distance between the southern and northern regions is 3,219km.
Climate
Due to its enormous size, India's climate differs from one region to another. The summer season begins in March and lasts through June, peaking in April where the temperature reaches 40 ° C. The monsoon season starts to move stealthily from the southern region in June, and lasts from July to October. The winter season lasts from November to February, with the freezing temperatures peaking from December to January. |
