 |
| • Eantastic Night View of Seoul from an Excurision Boat. |
 |
It was 15 years ago that Seoul began the
service of commercial excursion boats on Hangang River, the major waterway of
the Korean capital flowing from east to west. Now, six excursion boats and ten
speed boats sail along the river linking four different wharfs. Operated many
times day and night, these excursion boats have become more popular along both
Korean and overseas tourists who want to see the wonderful night view
surrounding the river. The visitors can find star-struck lovers, nighttime
joggers, idle youngster and contented anglers on the spacious river banks
brightly lit by orange lamps with huge bridges, riverside highways and
skyscrapers, also brightly lit, of office blocks and apartments at the back. The
boats often provide exciting live concerts.
One attraction is the
heart-shaped garden on the lower deck of The Second Olympic, also called as the
"Boat of Love" from the garden. In the evening, the garden is spotlighted
creating an atmosphere that many think very romantic. It is also a place where
you can often encounter a young Seoulite with a bouquet confesses his love
openly to a girl.
